Desert Survivor Gear List
The kitchen sink version

Shelter: Sleeping bag, ground cloth, sleeping pad, emergency tarp or rain cover. Optional: tent with rainfly.

Equipment: __Backpack, __flashlight or headlamp with batteries, __small knife, __toilet paper and __trowel, __compass, __maps, __water filter or iodine, __binoculars, __GPS.

Emergency: __Plastic garbage bags, __matches or lighter. Optional: __whistle, __siphon tube, __duct tape, __needle and thread, __mending wire, __signal mirror.

Clothes: __Running shoes or boots (broken in), __long sleeved shirt, __long pants, __hat with a brim or baseball cap with __bandanna, __underwear, __socks, __shell jacket,

Optional: __shorts, __tee shirt, __knit cap or balaclava, __gloves, __thermal underwear, __fleece jacket or sweater. You may want to leave a change of clothes in your car.

First Aid: __Small kit with bandaids, pain reliever, prescription drugs. Optional: __elastic bandage, __tweezers, __safety pins, __antiseptic, __moleskin, __sunscreen, __insect repellent, __snake bite kit, __chapstick. If you have a medical condition or allergy that might require attention, please tell the trip leader.

Food: Each person will bring food for their use on the trip. You may want to leave a cooler in your car with food and drinks.
